Northern Territory 2012

September 25, 2012

Recently I headed up for 10 days of hunting the Northern Territory for buffalo, scrub bulls, boars and barramundi. This year there were 4 mates heading up for what was to be a top end hunt of a life time with plenty of game to satisfy everyone.

This time of year the water birds are on all water holes and billabongs which makes for some scenic hunting. The animals that inhabit this area also stay in close proximity to their ever reducing water areas before the wet season hits.

The hunt saw us take our fair share of game with everyone being successful on this years trip.  It was extremely enjoyable seeing mates getting their first buffalo and just getting to enjoy what the top end has to offer after a solid year of deer hunting.

The fishing this year was relatively quiet but some good fish were still landed in between hunts.

The Hunters Element prime layer performed flawlessly again and made for a more comfortable trip temperature wise and on the nose. The fast drying technology makes for good quick washes keeping the gear fresh throughout the trip with its scent stop technology.  I used the contour pack again this trip and was never overheated and capable of carrying what I needed for full days in the field.

For this hunt I was using the African Safari Ruger in 375 Ruger and the Kimber Montana in 300wsm.

I will be doing an extended article for Australian and International Trophy hunter in the coming months.
