At my first fit out with this little marvel in Veil I was more than impressed not only did I finally have a great camera bag for my DSLR but it was waterproof and padded enough to keep it from the Elements, perfect.
But what else has this got going for it? Where do I begin… I guess the most impressive thing about this baby pack is the fit, shoulder straps keep it in the place right where it should be… centre-mass, so balance is not compromised. What this basically means is if you are creeping along a razor back ridge in Tahr country and things look dicey, you will at least have your load, albeit small, tucked into the small of your back perfectly placed in the middle of your body. Balance is crucial especially when bowhunting, so often drawing a bow on an uneven up or downhill slope, the last thing you need is an unbalanced load, it will throw your body out and you will have to work harder to keep your form, not good. I shot arrows right here on the lawn the day this arrived and felt confident with my stash of gear and favourite camera, landing arrows where they needed to be, this baby pack didn’t grow on me, I loved it from the beginning.
All this fits into my Divide belt bag, the perfect recipe for an afternoon/morning hunt, great having a small bottle of water and a KitKat when you take a break… Other obvious great features are straps underneath, so if you get a bit warm your top/jacket can be lashed on and forgotten about. Also YKK zips and five compartments with sub elastic sections for keeping gear sorted with bullet loops on your hip pockets which are easily accessed, perfect.
In summary this belt bag certainly fits the bill, getting around the hills not distracted by an annoying parcel on your back is a thing of the past, I intend to use it on every hunt from now on, knowing my expensive camera is safe, and that I can carry a bit of gear without balance being compromised, this can only further my confidence and convenience me to make that hunt all the better.
